The history of a bean | From the seed to the finished products | Sojasun
Here's the legend: once upon a time, there was an emperor in China who wished that his people would be forever spared famine. God heard his plea and gave him a soya bean.
The real story starts in the Orient; at least 3,000 years BC, soya was already consumed daily, and this from childhood.
Growing soya develops in the West at the beginning of the 20th century: the United States are nowadays the first worldwide producers of soya. In France, it is mainly grown in the southern half. Everybody is interested in soya today, mainly for its particularly attractive qualities for the soil and mankind.
